"Heidelberg Talks Online" des DAAD-Freundeskreises

Perspektivwechsel statt Elfenbeinturm

Heidelberg (hb). Dass eine Pandemie auch sehr fruchtbar sein kann, zeigt der Freundeskreis des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD) in Heidelberg. Seit Beginn der Coronakrise im Frühjahr 2020 hat der ehrenamtlich tätige Verein unter dem Motto "Heidelberg Talks Online" 141 Video-Konferenzen für DAAD-Stipendiat:innen sowie -Alumni/-Alumnae und Gäste organisiert (Stand: 19.4.2024). Die Themenfelder reichen bislang von "Natur(wissenschaft)/Umwelt/Klima/Nachhaltigkeit" über "Politik, Gesellschaft und Geschichte" und "Medizin und Psychologie" bis zu "Religion/Ethik, Philosophie und Literatur" (siehe unten), und im Anschluss an die Präsentationen fesseln spannende Frage & Antwort-Runden bzw. Diskussionen die Teilnehmenden mit internationalem und interdisziplinärem Hintergrund. Als Partner von "Heidelberg Talks Online" fungiert Heidelberg Alumni International (HAI), das Alumninetzwerk der Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg.
   Bei der Zielgruppe stößt das Format auf positives Feedback. Dušan Kondić aus Bosnien-Herzegowina etwa lobt "die Möglichkeit, neue Leute kennenzulernen und Meinungen auszutauschen", während der Australier Albert Zhou von den Diskussionen über Kontinentsgrenzen hinweg begeistert ist: "Sie fördern globale Solidarität und Kosmopolitismus in einer Zeit, in der sich der Ethnonationalismus rechter Strömungen immer mehr ausbreitet." In die gleiche Kerbe schlägt Nicolás Jaramillo, Soziologie-Doktorand aus Kolumbien: "Deutschland kennenzulernen heißt heute nicht mehr nur ´die Deutschen´ kennenzulernen, sondern auch viele Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund, die hier dauerhaft leben - und das ermöglicht der DAAD-Freundeskreis." Darüber hinaus könne man auf diese Weise "andere Perspektiven auf das Leben, andere Realitäten erschließen und verstehen." Nailya Salimbayeva aus Kasachstan mag die “sehr freundliche und einladende Atmosphäre“, Dr. Andika Asyuda aus Indonesien "die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit unterschiedlichen Themen" und Daliborka Maldaner aus Serbien die Möglichkeit, “so viele kluge Köpfe aus der ganzen Welt an einem (virtuellen) Ort zu treffen."
